Each month of Islam has its relevance and being the
first month, Muharram teaches us lessons of
admonition, sacrifice, selflessness and patience. To
remember the endurance of our Prophet’s (P.B.U.H)
loved ones for the sake of God, Karachi Club of Los
Angeles offered Haleem to community on February 12,
2006 at Garden Grove Park, Garden Grove, CA.

For the last 8 years Haleem lovers of Los Angeles
anticipate for this very occasion every year eagerly
and assemble to offer praying and recall 10th day of
Muharram – the day of sacrifice. The entire honor goes
to the members of Karachi Club who with zeal and love
of humanity arrange such a party every Muharram. Club
members includes but not limited to prominent
community figures like Kamal Zafar, Samin Faruqui,
Waseem Zaidi, Asif Faruqui, Atia Baji, Pervez Khan,
Arif Abbasi, Mohammad Latif, Ishtiaq Hasan, Mohammad
Ahsan, Masood Khan, Khalid Hasan and Ikram Shah.

The Park was packed with hundreds of brothers and
sisters who started pouring in around 1 pm till 5 pm
to enjoy haleem and thanked the organizers. Throughout the evening families with beautiful Pakistani dresses grace the occasion thus making it a momentous evening where people from all walks of life were invited to enjoy the feast

Party turned out a great one and organizers deserve
all the kudos to bring out the community on this
memorable occasion.
