I won’t hesitate to announce that an effort has been witnessed here in Los Angeles by hundreds of audiences in making peace between Pakistan and India. The mood was right and the audiences were perfect to make this effort to bring the two countries together once for all and forever through beautiful Music, melodious Songs and Banghra on the stage all night long.

This very demanding project has been undertaken by one and only Mr. Sarfaraz Khan from Khan Construction Co. Inc. Baldwin Park, California. This musical extravaganza was staged on a beautiful evening of May 29, 2004 at Jordan High School Auditorium. They called it Music Mela, The India – Pakistan Peace Tour.

Stars of the night came all the way from Pakistan and India to make this peace effort a success. The electrifying performers included Shehzad Roy, Sukhbir, RDB, Sarmad Sufian (from Dream Saturday), Nindy Kaur, Abeer, Usman Zaheer, Legacy, Malkoo and many more. The event was hosted by Sarmad Sufian – a young and witty performer form PTV Dream Saturday. Not only Poster-boy good looking Shehzad Roy captured hearts of young women on the floor, King of Banghra-Sukhbir made young boys do the best Banghra in front of the stage to win his autographed selected CD. Both Pakistani and Indian performers bagged love and appreciation for their efforts for peace through Music, Songs and Banghra. Beautiful music and banghra kept young men and women on their feet on the dance floor.

The show, no doubt, was one of its kinds that brought audience from Pakistani and Indian community to sit next to each other and enjoy pure music, love and friendship. We do hope that Mr. Sarfaraz Khan from Khan Construction Co. Inc. will continue his efforts to bring both communities together to help create cross-fertilization between the countries to help replace the old politics.
