The favorite names of the night were none other than Saleem A. Hai and Remesh Kumar. Either you were an individual sitting on the dais or part of the audience, seemed to be uttering “Kis-Se-Kahon”. That’s right, a CD composed, directed and produced by Saleem Hai and was arranged, scored and edited by Ramesh Kumar.

A large number of audiences attended “A Night of Entertainment” made possible by Urdu Writer Society, Inc. and SWAR of Southern California where admirers of Ghazals came empty handed but left with soul full of bliss and a CD to cherish the memories. The comely extravaganza was staged at the beautiful Diamond Bar Center, Diamond Bar, CA on the eve of Friday, February 4, 2005.

Mr. Irfan Murtaz and Mr. Wasiul Hasan Naqqash emceed the stage and honor the distinguish guest and performers of the night. Ghazal singer and performers included Ms. Sarika Ravindran, Mr. Julius Gill, Ms. Shobha Ambegaokar, Mr. Hiran Majmudar, and of course the great scorer and editor Mr. Ramesh Kumar. Conspicuous Mr. Charanjeet, Mr. Habib Wali Mohammad and Ms. Rehana Qamar were some of the eminent guest of the night.

Ms. Sarika Ravindran, Mr. Julius Gill, and Ms. Shobha Ambegaokar were pick of the night to encomium the work of Mr. Saleem Hai and Ramesh Kumar with melody, disposition, and lyrics. Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Scorer and Editor of the CD, helped deliver the night smoothly with his fingers on Tabla. Kis-Se-Kahon featured selected ghazals from poets like Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Jigar Muradabadi, Amjad Islam Amjad, Rehana Qamar and others.

A large number of audience attended the evening making it not only a success but did enjoy the performers and recognize the contributions from Saleem A. Hai and Ramesh Kumar for songs, music and ghazals.
