Eid Milad-Un-Nabi

It was a day when parents ask their children to be home with them, take lots of water, stay away from sun heat and try to stay cool. That’s right, the forecast of the day was 95 Degrees and above the whole day till the dusk. People from all corners of the town and the city were floating towards the beach throughout the day except some group of people.

Those were the people, despite of scorching sun on their heads decided to come out from their air conditioned home and drive their way to a place where they can pay homage to their beloved Prophet (pbuh). It’s a place where people from all walks of live get together and pay respect to our Prophet (pbuh) with poetry, verses from the Holy Quran and through speeches every year. The occasion was Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi.

The meeting was organized at a location renown as a center of religious activity for the City of Torrance and its vicinity. BUT, you will find people in love of God coming as far as from Orange County from East side as well as San Fernando Valley from North side. The place is called Momin Lodge being managed and taken care by a famous figure of Los Angeles County, Dr. Hasan Ud Din Hashmi.

The event was celebrated by people-at-large on May 2nd, 2004 where finding a seat in the hall was like searching a Chemistry book in Software section of library if you were a little late.

The conference was hosted by Dr. Hasan Ud Din Hashmi. Renowned speakers included Dr. Muzammil H Siddiqi, Imam Tariq Ansaar Aquil, Shaikh Sa’dullah Khan, Dr. Maher Hathout, Dr. Aslam Abdullah and Qari Ashraf Carrim. The audience also enjoyed the company and speech of Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Noor Muhammad Jadmani. Speakers not only enlightened different facets of live of our beloved Prophet (pbuh) but also ask the audience to fill their lives with our Prophet sayings and follow the path he showed us.

Local renowned naat readers also filled the air with beautiful word for our Prophet (pbuh). Naat readers included Brother Masoom, Sister Naghmana, Brother Muhammad Anwar, Brother Abbas, Brother Bilal, Brother Abuzar, Sister Muneera, Brother Waseem Beg and Dr. Zafar A Anjum. Audience enjoyed their beautiful voice paying homage to our Prophet (pbuh) throughout the night.

It was a night when you never wanted to leave the hall filled with such beautiful scholars, speakers and naat readers but the event ended after Isha Prayer followed by a complimentary dinner with hope all brothers and sisters will see each other and celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi next year Inshallah.
