Asserting that the Musharraf government will succeed and prevail with entire internal and external strategies, home terrorism, Kashmir issue, unemployment, and day-to-day problems of very Pakistanis, Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mr. Babar Khan Ghauri said addressing elites of Greater Los Angeles.

The event was an opportunity for the masses to hear from the Honorable Minister about the current developments in Pakistan and Government’s policies during his current visit to US. He also briefly expressed attractive policy and political stability in the country and welcomed foreign direct investment into the country on December 26, 2004 at Four Points Sheraton, Fullerton, CA.

“Government has laid special focus on development of communications and infrastructure which will play an important role in economics and economic development of the country”, he stressed. Government reserves have been the highest ever; foreign investor’s confidence, economic growth has started showing promising impact, and government has already called it a day to IMF were the highlights of the night speech.

Senator Babar Ghauri also answered questions on different issues like unemployment, Kashmir and LOC, bilateral relationship with India and how the government and our standings on core issues are being handled, economic recovery of Balochistan through Gawadar Port, government assurance to private sectors thus creating jobs, combating internal terrorism and protecting everyday rights of very citizen.

He also pointed out that Gawadar project would create jobs for 200 youngsters resulting an income of Rs. 120 million for PQA per annum. A Singaporean firm also coming up with a project pertaining to an edible oil refinery with ceremony in this regard coming next month that this $100 million project would create 450 new jobs, he mentioned.

The speech was a blast and entertaining enough kept the audience awaiting for a gourmet dinner served by the famous Shahnawaz turn out to be the one remembered till his next visit.
