He is what a sadhoo looking with dervish living getup and poetry is probably made for him. With his way of writing poetry, messages he wanted to convey to the audience, and his maintained Spiritual personality, Mr. Arif Imam has left the audience breathless on the evening of May 30, 2004 at Taj Mahal Restaurant, Norwalk, California.

The event was called An Evening With Mr. Arif Imam. This event was conducted by Urdu Writers Society, Los Angeles, California – presidented by famous poet from Pakistan Mr. Mohsin Ehsan. Guest poets also included Mr. Masroor Javed from New York and Mr. Abdur Rehman Siddique from Virginia.

Mr. Irfan Murtaza, President of the Society, have the honor to host this beautiful evening and Mr. Majeed Akhtar helped him welcoming the respected guest to come to the dice and honor the Man of the evening for his work in Poetry.

The theme of the evening was to pay tribute to Mr. Arif Imam, his poetry and his contribution and time for his audience for such a beautiful work. Through his writings, the audience finds him a poet of spirituality, pious and dervish whose life is nothing but to please his virtuous “Saain”. One can not deny the fact that he is the Poet of Today who links both the world - past and future, world and the heaven through his writings.

It was a night one can not find him pleased if he didn’t pay tribute to this great poet. The poets who were blessed by the evening and had a chance to pay their gratitudes for Mr. Arif Imam were Mr. Nadeem Ali, Mr. Imran Raza, Mr. Syed Zafar Abbas, Mr. Masroor Javed, Mr. Abdur Rehman Siddique, Mr. Zia Khan, Mr. Syed Hassan, Mr. Jafar Abbas Insan, Ms. Asifa Nishat, Mr. Khalid Khwaja, and Mr.Farooq Taraz

The audience had a great time listening to the local poets and also the Poet of the Evening Mr. Arif Imam. It has been said that the evening was one of the best audience could observed and hope that Urdu Writers Society will provide us this opportunity again.
